So Damn Tired & THANKFUL!
Well, Thanksgiving isn't even over yet and I am already bitching. I so suck.Hope you all had a great one. Ours was really nice. We had tons of food. My mother-in-law worked her ass off for the last 3 days preparing everything. We had Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Oven baked Macaroni & Cheese, Cornbread Dressing, Regular Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Corn Casserole, Homemade Noodles, Caramalized Sweet Potatoes, Marshmellow Sweet Potatoes, Gravy (of course), Rolls, Homemade Cornbread, dips and more dips, pies and more pies, cakes and more cakes, cookies and more cookies, & cheesecake & more cheesecake. Holy shit. It was so much food. But 17 people were there so I guess they all got enough to eat. I by the way didn't cook shit...not one motherfucking thing. I HATE TO COOK PEOPLE. My husband does it all. He made the corn casserole and mashed potatoes. He is FABULOUS.
I am sure those of you with kids know how hard it is to get everyone together and ready for a day like this. Just getting out the door seems to take hours and by the time you arrive at your destination you are already exhausted. That was pretty much my day today. Just taking a shower is an effort but boy this day was just a little too CRAAZAYYY for me. Luckily my dad comes up to eat with us at my husband's family's house. My dad is the only family that I have left and today I really wanted to say in front of everyone how THANKFUL I am to have him here this year especially. We have had one of our toughest years yet. See I am a total DADDY'S GIRL. Me and my daddy are so close and always have been. Well this year my dad was diagnosed VERY unexpectedly with heart disease and had to have a quadruple bypass in May. He is only 45 years old. He was also diagnosed with diabetes in September of this year. He probably has the worst luck of any human being that I have ever met. Boy have we had a hard year. The thought of losing my dad to me is absolutley UNBEARABLE. I love him more than I could ever type in words. He is literally the ONLY family that I have left. Everyone else has passed in the last 10 years including my mom which I may have the balls to talk about one day on this web site. So anyway, before I blab anymore. I am SOO thankful to have my Daddy this year on Thanksgiving. I am so glad he is still around to watch his one and only grandchild grow and learn to love him as much as I do. He adores McKenna. He knows this is going to be his only grandchild. Thank you Daddy for coming to visit me every 2 weeks even though it is an hour and a half drive for you to get here. Thank you for helping me to be the person I am today. Thank you for raising me to be a kind and gentle human being but also teaching me to have a great sense of humor and have an open mind. Thank you for taking care of yourself and not giving up after all you have been through this year. I am just so THANKFUL for YOU!
I am also thankful for my wonderful, understanding, patient, husband. I love you. I am thankful for my daughter who has changed my life forever for the better. I love you. I am thankful for my step children..Spencer, thank you for being a great kid and for calling me mom to all your friends on the phone and to your girlfriend. I love you. Ashtin, thank you for being such a huge help to me with everything, thank you for all the pictures and flowers you bring me and things you make for me. I love you.
Now..I am done being nice bitches.
