Bye Bye Bitches...
Weeeelll..It has been just me and Lil Miss Pissy since Wednesday night. We don't quite know what to do with ourselves without everyone else here so I took off work today and we are headed to Dickson (my hillbilly home town) for the weekend to stay with Paw Paw (Gran Sissy).
Gran Sissy is currently so excited about us coming that he is just about to pee himself. I am realizing how very hard it is to get all your shit together to take a 2 year old somewhere. Pack N Play, Booster Seat, TOYS, CLOTHES, food, cups, snacks..does it EVER FUCKING END?? The drive to Dickson is about 1 hour and 45 min. from here. We usually have at least 1 meltdown in the car on the way there. My child cannot seem to sit in a car seat longer than 1 hour or she starts acting crazy and screams and whines and SCREAMS more and MORE and MORE. No one told me it would be this way.
Talk about fucking WEIRD....when you are used to having 5 people in your house and they all go away for a few days..God, it is wonderful and so boring at the same time. I do miss my family, don't get me wrong but it is nice to have a little break. Plus, I stuck a nice little love note in Hubby's pants for him to find so he can MISS ME A LOT. Hubby, step son and Grandpa (hubby's dad) went fishing and won't be returning until Sunday. My step daughter is at her Grandma's (hubby's mothers) so we are headed the fuck out of here. This'll prolly be too late to help, but when I'd have to drive a long time with my baby girl in the car, I'd set one of those plastic baskets (like the ones in the store) next to her carseat.
I'd fill it with books, any handheld electronic toy (like thoe talking/noisemaking books) and dolls, stuffed animals. I'd also add those damn Happy Meal Toys that I'd hide as soon as we got. This was good for a 4 hour drive. :)

I've found turning the radio up the drown out the meltdown can be quite helpful.

a canister of nitrous oxide does well,
give some to the passenger - (laughter) give some to the driver- who cares!!!!??? and put sominto the engine- vrrrrrooooom you are there in no time..
